Pacific Speech Therapy and Learning Centre is proud to have Kim Barthel, a registered Occupational Therapist in four Canadian provinces, the United States and Singapore, and an advanced NDT and Sensory Integration Instructor.
Learning Objectives:
- The learner will develop an introductory understanding of the science of attachment and its impact on resilience, self-regulation and social engagement in ASD.
- The learner will appreciate the impact of “goodness of fit” between parent and child when developmental disability is present.
- The learner will develop an understanding of attachment patterns throughout the lifespan, as they impact both the child and the parent.
- The learner will gain practical tools for facilitating positive change through attunement, compassion and conscious engagement.
